Starting with digital cards

Digital loyalty cards for Saudi businesses: where to start

Your card can live on the customer’s phone. Give it meaning by connecting its design to a clear reward and a straightforward counter experience.

At a glance

A digital loyalty card represents your business’s program in a phone wallet. With Walaa, customers can save it in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet after joining through a code or link. Start by choosing understandable rules and preparing your team to explain them.

Before the design: what should the card do?

Are you encouraging repeat visits for a familiar service, or giving purchases value towards a later visit? Define the objective before choosing stamps, points, cashback or another suitable format.

Start with an offer your team can explain in one clear sentence. Too many options at launch can make the program harder for both customers and staff.

Your identity, with information customers can read

Prepare your logo, colours and program name. Make the essentials clear: how customers earn, what the reward is and where to find the terms. The card is part of your brand experience.

Walaa supports both wallets, but field arrangement and some visual details depend on the wallet and device. Review the card on appropriate devices during setup.

Prepare the counter experience

  • Place the joining code or link somewhere visible with a short explanation of the benefit.
  • Agree on a consistent explanation and answers about earning and redemption.
  • Review situations such as returns, cancellations and balance questions with the team.
  • Check the joining experience on both wallets before announcing the program.

After launch, listen for friction

Record repeated questions from customers and staff. If a simple rule needs a long explanation every time, improve the wording or presentation before adding more features.

Review joining, reward use and return visits in your business context. Having a card on a phone is useful, but it does not by itself guarantee another visit.
